Smile

“Choose to be optimistic, it feels better.”

– Dalai Lama

Sigh – the title of my book needs to be changed. It needs to be ‘fresher’. I’m frustrated and feel kinda old. I’m not even sure what fresher looks like.

But I’m working on it. And I changed my email settings too, apparently Comic Sans is very old school.

Frustrating and rather daunting, but I have chosen to follow the Dalai Lama’s advice:

Choose to be optimistic, it feels better

And then I watched a TED talk.

I invite you to watch it as well. Choosing to smile makes sense . . . even when one is feeling kinda old . . .

I’d love to hear about how you stay optimistic.

And as always, thank you for taking the time to visit.  I appreciate it.

  1. I believe ‘old’ is in the head as well as in the body. Watch Dr. Cristiane Northrup’s videos goddessesneverage to get this straight. I like the idea to get rid of the old and make some space for the new.

However, who cares what other people think or what’s hype? Choose what resonates the best with who you are. I love Comic sans 🙂

What is the title of your book?

  2. One of my favorite self made statements “if good things can happen, they can happen to me” has always been kind of my mantra for staying optimistic. I have been living out of town during the week working on a project that will last for another year and was getting bummed out. I was letting the joy and beauty that for me is everyday living, slip by unnoticed and found myself getting testy, hoping someone would give me a reason to quit. Fortunately,a photo of one of my daughters leaping in the air next to a high mountain lake inspired me to ask myself the question, “where do I want to be?” So I made a list from the heart and reminded myself of a few things that I already knew- Find the joy and beauty in life everyday. Be grateful for all that you have and remember that life is only as good as you’re attitude toward it. ( And I’ve always been a firm believer that a smile improves you’re face value!) Love Ya,
    Doug

  3. Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (1: If He created it all, He’s got some crazy-mad power!!)

Exodus 32:14 – Then the Lord relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened. (2: He desired revenge and justice, but at the behest of Moses, He turned to mercy. He is a merciful, loving and just God.)

If the God of the universe is as such, then really that’s all I need! Every day might not be a good day… but all-in-all, as long as we focus on the wins (and God is the biggest/best win of all!), we can’t go wrong!

    Awesome music helps, too.

  5. Hi Patti, thanks for following my blog. I love yours too already and hence I leave a first comment on my maiden visit. That how up your blog’s way is 🙂
I stay optimistic as much as I can, by reminding myself it could have been worse. I may not be old numerically, but I have sure gone some ways faster than some of my generation pals. And yet, ain’t age just a number anyway? There was a time I lived and felt like a 5 decades, and today I bounce around feeling like a sweet and sexy 22 🙂
So, life goes on, who cares how haters gonna hate, certainly not me cause just go no second to waste on blablabla 🙂
