Thank you so much Devin for sharing this incredible video with me. In an age of “sharing” everything and being “known” universally, I believe that as a species, we have never been so lonely. Such a fine line, all this social media, and yet such isolation.
“We’re a generation of idiots, smart phones and dumb people”
Let’s all choose to pay attention, to be present, to take in our surroundings and make the most of today.
It only takes five minutes. Please take the time to watch this video . . .
“Disconnect from the need to be heard and defined, go out in the world, leave distractions behind. Look up from your phone, shut down that display . . .”
Then go out into the world and connect with someone, eye to eye.
Please let me know what you thought of this video, I’d love to hear from you. And as always, thank you for taking the time to visit. I appreciate it.
This video is outstanding and so very true! I’ve blogged on this very topic several times.

A really important message for the youth of today.Fortunately I remember the days when walking and talking with a friend (such as yourself) was the preferred way to communicate. May the memories live on!!!!

Hi Doug,
I agree – a very important message. And it made my heart sing that it was my son who shared it with me. (Mind you he does spend his share of time in FB!)
Yes, so grateful for my memories of communicating with friends (like you) face to face. Enjoying time outside, like at Huddart Park!
Take care of yourself my friend.

Thanks, Patti, for the moving video. It’s left a lump in my throat. It hits home particularly hard as here in Korea I’ve never seen so many commuters so immersed in their virtual worlds. (Like the narrator of the video, I’m sometimes guilty too, though I prefer to have my nose in a book instead of a screen, at least in public.) Thanks also for liking my blog post and following my blog. I’m going to follow suit!

So happy to see this video being shared so much – just posted it today. It’s fascinating to me how we “connect” with more people than ever before but I wonder if we are truly connecting … Thanks for posting! So important for the good old fashioned connection to be had 🙂

I totally agree! Ironic that it’s gone viral all over the arena causing the problem, but great to see people respond. Hopefully will result in a few more people looking up!
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
